On this 14 day self guided motorcycle tour we combine some of the best riding roads in Europe making this a truly epic tour. With endless stunning scenery and many a mountain pass this really isn’t a tour to be missed.
BEST TIME TO GO : JUNE TO SEPTEMBER
With a quick hop across to Calais on the Eurotunnel you start your tour heading south east to our first overnight stop. You then head towards Germany via the superb Vosges Mountains stopping overnight at your hotel on the edge of the Black Forest and close to one of the most iconic biking roads the B500.
As one of the best know roads across Europe the B500 is visited by many bikers each year to ride its smooth tarmac and sweeping bends. You start your day on this epic road before heading across southern Bavaria and on to your two night stay close to the Grossglockner. Rest day or a choice of ride outs are available including a visit to Hitler’s Summer retreat or a full day exploring the famous Grossglockner high alpine road which at 8215 feet is the highest mountain pass in Austria. With hairpins a plenty, mountain top views, lakes and glaciers there is plenty to keep riders and pillions happy.
After the Grossglockner you head towards Italy crossing the Southern Tyrol area and towards the beautiful mountain landscapes, sheer cliffs and rocky outcrops of the Dolomites. Passo Campolongo, Passo Gardena, Passo San Pellegrino are just a few of delights explore today.
Following a nights rest in an alpine ski resort you have a full day to explore the Dolomites, Passo Campolongo, Passo Gardena, Passo San Pellegrino are just a few of delights to explore today. The next day you head towards the famous Lakes of Italy ending your day on the shores of Lake Garda, Italy’s largest lake. We have a 2 night stay at Lake Garda. A well earnt day off follows and there’s a ride out option if you want more time in the saddle or spend the day on the lake hopping from picturesque lake side town to lake side town or head over to the cable car at Malcesine which will take you to the top of Monte Baldo for breath taking views over Lake Garda.
After a relaxed day off at the lake its back on the bikes heading towards the pretty Spa town of Bormio and the start of the famous Stelvio pass (As today is a shorter day there may be time for those that are keen to take a jaunt to the top of Stelvio before dinner).
You head up the infamous Stelvio Pass next day one of the routes that is on almost every bikers to do list. You have 2 route options today one taking in the both east and west sides of Stelvio and the other slightly shorter utilising the Umbrial Pass. Crossing into Switzerland you head to our next 2 night stop via the Oberalpstrasse passing some famous 007 film locations en route to our typical alpine hotel which is a perfect location for the next days adventures.
Next possibly the highlight of the tour, but with so many great roads ridden already it’s a difficult one. You ride the 5 passes of the Andermatt loop including the Grimsal Pass, Tremola Pass, San Gotthard Pass and Nufenen its actually 6 passes in total but who’s counting! Stunning scenery, sweeping bends and switchbacks. Today has something for everyone and we are sure there will be many smiling faces in the evening.
Heading away from the Alps back towards France next you still have plenty of great riding roads to explore before reaching the Vosges Mountains for our overnight stop.
Heading across open French countryside using the Route des Cretes, stopping on route at Verdun to visit the WW1 memorial before your overnight stay next to the Semois River.
Your final day starts with a quick visit to the Chimay Classic Road Circuit which is still actively used to this day. Back into France for the last leg of our trip up to the tunnel and the crossing back to the UK.
