If exploring winding forest roads, discovering historic WWI sites, sampling regional specialties (including an impressive amount of cake), and riding through two of Europe’s most scenic and underrated mountain ranges sounds like your kind of adventure, then this tour is absolutely for you. We ride the legendary B500 through the Black Forest, tackle the technical corners of the Vosges Mountains, and finish with the sweeping curves of the Ardennes. It’s a true delight for riders and pillions alike.
Seven days. Three countries. Endless curves. One unforgettable journey through forests, mountains, and memories.
DAY 1: THROUGH FRANCE TO CHÂLONS-EN-CHAMPAGNE
Great first day on our Black Forest and Vosges Tour. A tad warm—31°C at times—but we pushed through.
By the time we reached Châlons-en-Champagne, everyone was ready for a well-deserved cold beer. 🍻
Tomorrow: Germany and the Black Forest.
DAY 2: INTO GERMANY – BADEN-BADEN
Day two done and dusted. Great day.
Warm again—up to 30°C—and not a cloud in the sky. The kind of riding weather that makes you forget there’s anywhere else you need to be.
Now in Baden-Baden for two nights. Ride-out around the Black Forest tomorrow. 😀👍
DAY 3: BLACK FOREST RIDE-OUT – CURVES & BANANA SPLITS
Many a curve and turn today. The Black Forest delivered exactly what it promises—forest-lined roads, sweeping bends, technical sections, and scenery that never gets old.
Lunch in Freiburg, where David ordered a banana split. Because apparently that’s what you have for lunch in the Black Forest. 😀
Fantastic roads and weather. What more could we ask for?
Tomorrow: the Vosges. 👌
DAY 4: B500, LAKE TITISEE & BLACK FOREST GATEAU
What a day.
Started with the B500—one of Germany’s most famous motorcycle roads and it lived up to the hype. A few back roads through the Black Forest followed, then onto Lake Titisee for lunch.
David had Black Forest Gateau this time instead of banana split. It disappeared so quickly there was no photo opportunity. 🤣
Instead, we took a photo of everyone by a big clock and on a hill—because why not?
Great weather again today, a little more comfortable at 25°C.
Ride-out around the Vosges tomorrow. 👍
DAY 5: VOSGES MOUNTAINS – CORNERS, CAKE & COMMEMORATION
Can’t believe we’re on day five already! What a day!
The Vosges Mountains delivered more corners than anyone could want—a mix of technical bends and sweepers all blended together in an incredibly scenic area. Just fantastic.
We visited the Linge Memorial to see the WWI trenches—a sobering reminder of the history embedded in these mountains. The trenches are remarkably well-preserved, and standing there, you can almost feel the weight of what happened on these hillsides over a century ago.
Oh, and cake was consumed. Of course. 🍰
DAY 6: VOSGES TO ARDENNES – PUNCTURES & PERSEVERANCE
We headed away from the Vosges this morning. 😔
Still, there was great riding to be done on the way to the Ardennes. Then came the drama—a puncture, just 15 miles from the hotel. But all sorted. These things happen on tour, and the group handled it brilliantly.
Last night tonight. Can’t believe it’s over already.
Tomorrow: heading to the tunnel, but not before more great roads in the Ardennes. 👍🏍
DAY 7: ARDENNES TO CALAIS – THE FINAL RUN
Last coffee stop of the tour by the River Meuse, then a final team photo at the Circuit de Chimay before David split off to head towards his ferry crossing and the rest of us headed to Calais.
A great tour with great company, excellent weather, and fantastic roads. 😀👍🏍

The Black Forest charmed us. The Vosges challenged us. The Ardennes sent us home smiling.
But mostly, it was the people—great company who made every coffee stop, every corner, and every slice of cake taste better. Riders who became friends, strangers who became travelling companions, moments shared over banana splits, Black Forest Gateau, and countless kilometres of perfect tarmac.
Fantastic roads. Perfect weather. Great company.
What a tour.
